Hodge Elementary School, MO

The Character Council at Hodge worked together to raise money for the Open Door Animal Shelter in Jefferson County. The students also collected pet supplies to donate to the shelter as part of their Service Learning Project. |
Ridgewood Avenue School, NJ

A cut pug who belongs to one of Ridgewood's special education teachers, Ozzy has earned his dog therapy certification. Every morning Ozzy goes to the Resource Room where students have the opportunity to take care of him and gain a deeper understanding for animals and pets (and responsibility too). |
Lakeside Elementary School, KS

Working collaboratively with high school and college students, the 5th graders at Lakeside designed and built life-size dog houses that they then auctioned off. All proceeds went to the local Humane Society. |
